Job description

My client a major bank is looking to hire a network engineer to join its team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform installation, administration, and support tasks for IT network (data and voice) and security systems, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Monitor network performance and availability, conduct capacity management, and ensure configuration and service level management.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems, manage security measures, and apply patches to ensure the integrity of the supported IT areas.
  • Develop, establish, and review standards, procedures, and configuration documents for firewall management.
  • Evaluate infrastructure products and related tools, providing recommendations to management.
  • Design and review implemented infrastructure within the supported domains.
  • Plan, implement, and test infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct regular health checks and monitoring of all installed systems, promptly reporting any issues or performance concerns.
  • Complete assigned tasks and projects with high quality, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and predefined scopes.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports to management on problems, incidents, and project status in a timely manner.
  • Manage the helpdesk service team to provide end-user technical support when required.
Requirements:
  • University graduate in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in infrastructure administration and support, preferably within the financial industry.
  • Familiarity with LAN and WAN, telephony systems, network monitoring tools, and security products such as Cisco routers, Cisco/H3C switches, Avaya PABX, WFO, Checkpoint/Juniper/Cisco Firewalls, and F5 Load Balancer.
  • Experience in vendor management for desk-side support is desirable.
  • CCNA/CCNP qualification is preferable.
  • Excellent customer service mindset with a strong focus on providing exceptional support.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and under pressure with integrity.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese.
