Job description
Responsibility:
IT Infra Management
Develop and execute strategies for efficient cloud operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices
Manage support from technology infrastructure partners and align technology business strategies to enable the organisation to provide innovative and superior services to their customers
Provide advisory and consultancy services to key stakeholders within the respective IT function to provide effective solutions and enable implementation of the business goals/strategy
Coordinate and contribute to business requirement specifications, review business process and define product related parameters to ensure effective integration with existing technologies
Technical Development and Functional Configurations
Conduct reviews of detailed designs, code and test plans to ensure quality of deliveries meets required standards
Manage the development and implementation of application systems to support banking requirements
Identify opportunities for sourcing, purchasing and in-house development to ensure cost-effective investment on application solutions
Manage technical issues and risks raised to ensure agreed actions are completed within timelines
Manage the Incident Management activities during respective system and UAT activities to ensure adequate support to business users
Project ManagementDrive the management and delivery of group wide technology solutions portfolio, programmes and projects to achieve business goals
Direct and lead planning, designing and implementation of technology applications and products by collaborating closely with the business to understand current and future business needs in order to translate these into an efficient, agile, flexible and scalable architecture
Provide Business Support function through a team of specialised subject matter experts to facilitate planning, costing and architecting technologies solutions
Communicate project status, issues and/or concerns to executive management, team members, and Information Technology managers to ensure projects meet timelines and budget
System Analysis, Tracking and Business Alignment
Provide technology information to ensure effective monitoring of performance
Run regular audits of technology systems to ensure optimum operational levels
Ensure adherence to service provision standards in order to maintain performance consistency
Undertake quality assurance checks and liaise with external consultants and management to ensure effective adherence to guidelines and standards
Budget Management
Contribute to the preparation of the business area’s budget and manage and monitor the financial performance against budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon
People Management
Manage self and team in line with ADCB’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own and employee contribution to business performance
Manage the effective achievement of the team’s objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing the team and providing formal and informal feedback to maximise overall performance, engagement and motivation
Requirements:
At least 7 years of experience in IT with a banking background with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity with a wide experience in management of application systems and technical systems
Proven experience in leading infrastructure operations and managing on-premises data centre and cloud environmentsBachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline
Project management Prince II or PMI (or equivalent) Advanced degree or cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect)
Consulting experience in providing functional and technical solutions
Incident management and resolution
Management of software releases and configuration management
Technical/functional specifications
Programming language and database technology
Quality control techniques
Influencing, persuasion and negotiation skills
Planning and analytical skills
In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI) and associated services
